Meetings Sofia has officially launched as a strategic unit within Visit Sofia, reinforcing the commitment of the Sofia Tourism Administration to the development and support of business and conference events in the MICE sector.
Officially established in 2026 as part of Visit Sofia - The Official Tourism Administration, Meetings Sofia is designed to highlight Sofia’s strengths as a leading destination for business events. It serves as a central point of contact for event planners looking to organize meetings, conferences, congresses, and incentive programs in the Bulgarian capital. The initiative provides professional guidance, local expertise, and practical support to ensure the successful delivery of events of all sizes.
Meetings Sofia offers a range of services designed to assist organizers at every stage of the planning process. These include access to a comprehensive network of venues and trusted local suppliers, support in identifying suitable partners such as hotels, PCOs and DMCs, and assistance with site inspections and coordination with local stakeholders. The department also provides promotional materials, support in preparing presentations and bids, and connections to academic institutions and industry networks.
All services are provided free of charge, positioning Meetings Sofia as a neutral and reliable partner for both international and local event organizers.
As part of these efforts, the Sofia Event Planners’ Guide, presented by Visit Sofia in 2025, has established itself as a valuable tool for event organizers. It has been developed as a practical guide for planning congresses, conferences, corporate meetings, and incentive travel, providing structured information on venues, infrastructure, and conditions for hosting events in the capital.
The catalogue is available in a digital format on visitsofia.bg, as well as in a printed edition.
With its strategic location, strong connectivity, modern infrastructure, and rich cultural heritage, Sofia continues to attract interest as a destination for business events. Through Meetings Sofia, the city further strengthens its ability to support high-quality, impactful events and deliver meaningful experiences for delegates.
