Malasysia secures APSIPA ASC 2027 in Penang

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 September 2026 – Malaysia has successfully secured the 19th Asia Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA ASC 2027), strengthening the country’s position as a preferred destination for international Business Events. The conference will be held from 5 to 8 December 2027 at G Hotel Gurney, Penang. It is expected to attract approximately 500 delegates, including 450 international participants.

The successful bid was led by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), in collaboration with the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) and key academic institutions.

Established in 2009, the Asia Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association is an international professional association comprising researchers, academics, students and industry professionals in signal and information processing and related fields. APSIPA ASC is held annually in different

destinations across the Asia-Pacific region. The conference provides a platform for participants to share knowledge, present the latest research and build international collaborations in emerging technologies.

The conference is closely aligned with the New Industrial Master Plan 2030, particularly its focus on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, semiconductor technologies and other high-value industries. Hosting the event will help strengthen Malaysia’s research capabilities and increase the international visibility of the country’s universities and technology institutions.

APSIPA ASC 2027 also marks the conference’s return to Malaysia after a decade, following its previous edition in Kuala Lumpur in 2017 Beyond its economic contribution, APSIPA ASC 2027 is expected to create a legacy by supporting knowledge transfer, strengthening academic and industry networks, and opening opportunities for future international technology conferences to be hosted in Malaysia. The successful bid reinforces Malaysia’s growing reputation as a regional centre for international conferences, research collaboration and technology-driven innovation.
