Leading the way: Industry’s biggest roadblocks tackled at IMEX America

Registration is now open for the upcoming edition of IMEX America, the renowned and largest trade show in North America for the global business events industry, with just over three months to go.

Feedback from the successful IMEX Frankfurt edition in May indicates that recent advancements in technology and enhancements in the customer journey have significantly boosted satisfaction ratings and NPS scores in various aspects. These improvements set the stage for an enhanced business and networking experience at IMEX America, scheduled for October 8 – 10, where attendees will benefit from the same system upgrades.

This year's show is being tailored to address significant market influences, such as evolving attendee behaviors, ongoing financial constraints, and investments in technology.

Changes in employee work patterns have influenced how and when event planners schedule events, with data from Convene revealing that meetings and events held from Tuesday to Thursday generate nearly 80% of their revenue, attracting 300% more business per day than on Mondays, Fridays, and weekends.

Increased competition for prime event days is putting pressure on those with limited budgets, limiting their available options. IMEX America's Business Practices education track will tackle this issue and numerous other challenges currently confronting busy event planners.

The growing recognition of technology's role in enhancing event design and the attendee experience is evident in a recent survey by Northstar/Cvent Meetings, showing a notable 42% increase in spending on meetings/event technology and support this year. IMEX America will address technology in a practical manner, offering one-to-one support from exhibitors and dedicated learning sessions on AI, data, and future innovations.

Exhibitor interest in IMEX America remains high across all sectors, particularly in North and South America, as well as global hotel groups. Major industry partners, including Google Xi and Encore, are set to return with new activations.

Last year, the show attracted over 3,400 exhibiting companies from 150+ countries and over 5,300 buyers. This year, the IMEX Impact Talking Point underscores the show's focus on equipping planners with the tools, knowledge, and connections to deliver impactful events that drive positive change.

IMEX CEO Carina Bauer emphasizes the show's tagline, 'Let's Go!', inviting the industry, innovators, and thought leaders to unite in Las Vegas to elevate their businesses and communities. The event aims to address industry challenges by bringing together experts, dynamic partners, and engaging speakers for a week of valuable insights and networking opportunities. The rallying cry to the global events community is to embrace the multitude of possibilities at IMEX America and take part in shaping the future of the industry.
