Krabi Prototype is the new chapter of sustainable tourism in Thailand

Previous

Krabi and Bangkok hosted the first Global Conscious Travel Summit 2025 in Southeast Asia. The forum was organized by Tourism Cares, a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable tourism.

Thailand welcomed over 40 representatives from tour operators, airlines, media, and travel companies from the United States and other countries. The participants shared their experiences and discussed new practices for responsible and conscious travel. The key topic of the meeting was the Krabi Prototype initiative.

Krabi has become a central platform for the promotion of Krabi Prototype - the flagship model for sustainable tourism management in Thailand.

Known worldwide for its Maya Bay Beach, Phi Phi Islands, Reuly Beach, hot springs, and picturesque limestone landscapes, the region is committed to preserving its natural beauty and the traditional way of life of its local communities. The province is part of the Andaman Sea Development Zone, one of Thailand's strategic tourism clusters, highlighting its potential as a leading destination for sustainable travel. In 2023, this status was confirmed by the inclusion of Khlong Tom Hot Springs in the Green Destinations Top 100 Stories list for its contribution to nature and climate conservation.
