We first visited this hotel in November 2021, when we were collecting material for the issue dedicated to Qatar. This luxurious beach resort is located on a man-made island in the heart of the tourist area “Pearl of Qatar.”
You drive up to the hotel and see a magnificent palace, in which rich Arab traditions are harmoniously combined with examples of European architecture. In the decor of Marsa Malaz Kempinski, there is a link with the centuries-old tradition of pearl fishing of these places. We noticed that one wants to return to this hotel not only for vacations or events, but also for taking a closer look at the rich collection of art objects. And it is privacy that also surprises in Marsa Malaz Kempinski despite its scale. Apparently, the location on the island creates an atmosphere of privacy and a special event.
The hotel’s room stock is famous for the largest standard rooms in Doha (75 m2). There are 281 rooms of various categories, each with a spacious balcony. We were especially captivated by the Presidential Suite (460 m2), where, in addition to two bedrooms, there is a spacious living room with a dining area and a magnificent outdoor terrace with a private pool and sun loungers. We recommend using this suite for non-standard VIP events.
Marsa Malaz Kempinski deservedly holds the title of one of the best family hotels in Qatar, but at the same time it can provide the highest level of event management for corporate groups of up to 1,500 persons. The space for business and formal events, with its total area of 2,200 m2, includes two ballrooms: Grand Palazzo (1,100 m2) with a spacious foyer and a separate VIP entrance, and Venezia (305 m2), as well as 6 conference rooms (67–111 m2) and an outdoor area with a capacity of up to 200 persons.
The hotel has 11 restaurants, bars, and lounges including projects by famous chefs Richard Sandoval and Dani Garcia. The restaurant complex will provide a dizzy journey through the world of tastes: from the Middle Eastern cuisine to pan-Latin motifs and an American diner in retro style. Located on the roof, with a panoramic view of the “Pearl of Qatar,” The Secret Garden outdoor bar earned special love of the guests.
