Two years ago, the RIHA Beach Restaurant opened in the JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa with a unique concept that demonstrated the diversity of Indian cuisine in an eclectic style using ingredients familiar to the Europeans in the preparation of dishes.

First of all, it is necessary to note the privacy of this restaurant. Its secluded location is comfortable not only for small groups, but even for a single guest. The “capsules” with a table and a sofa are buried in the sand, they are surrounded by torches with live fire, and there is an endless ocean ahead. The atmosphere is amazing! The sound of incoming waves, bright flavors, fragrant spices. RIHA means “curry” in the Dhivehi language. Chef Rahit Agarwal's passion and love for regional Indian cuisine is evident in every dish, and his mother and grandmother's recipes are an integral part of the menu. But Rohit breaks stereotypes by mixing Western foods with Indian flavors making the experience even more authentic. On the menu you will see foie gras, scallops, lobster and wagyu beef. Traditional cooking methods such as tandoori and grass are used in the preparation of dishes. The dishes also reflect Indian traditions (copper glasses, brass plates, porcelain cups), and the tables are served with coconut shells and leaves.
